Company One is an award-winning theatre production and education company dedicated to bringing folks from all of Boston’s diverse communities into one space, to engage with socially provocative stories to promote positive social change.

Shawn LaCount, Artistic Director

As a member of the C1 Board, working to develop the Strategic Plan, Rosalind Thomas-Clark is inspired by C1’s mission. She sees this theatre company as cutting edge and profoundly innovative.  C1 produces plays that other theatres will not touch, and the audiences are always diverse in gender, age and ethnicity.  The production values are exceptional, including the directing and acting.

Rosalind co-teaches C1’s Professional Development for Actors, a class where actors come to hone their craft, build their repertoires to prepare for auditions, and challenge themselves in their art form.  Not all participants want to audition but, of those who do so, a surprising number are cast in Boston and NYC productions.  In addition, several younger actors have been accepted in theatre schools both in the USA and in London.

You MUST see Company One’s entertaining and enlightening HOW WE GOT ON! This is a jubilant show directed by Summer L. Williams that not only made me understand rap in a new way– but made me FEEL it! This show captures the heart, mind, and soul of the art form, and channels the here and now, with words and beats, that connect us to our truth and each other. YOU WILL LOVE IT!
